Macquarie can certainly be regarded as a global authority in this field.  Although this fund has a limited track record in the UK, Macquarie has global experience managing £1.7bn of such assets.  It is also encouraging that the fund, which was launched at a very tough time, is still showing a (small) gain since launch, having outperfromed global stockmarkets by about 12%, and exhibiting somewhat less volatility. 

Funds invested into infrastructure can represent up to 5% of portfolios and, in risk terms, sit between bonds and equities. 

The Fund aims to provide UK investors with a total return over the medium-to-long term consisting of income and capital growth.
