UK Smaller Companies

Update 9th December 2011: Smaller companies have significantly outperformed larger companies over the last year mostly on the back of favourable valuations and increasing merger and acquisition activity. Over the first quarter of 2011 smaller companies proved more resilient to economic shocks than their mid-cap counterparts.

However, with the ongoing sovereign debt concerns and a full scale banking crisis a possibility these are not favourable conditions for smaller companies as lending conditions could tighten. If you sort the table by ‘One year cumulative value’ and order by ‘Best Performing’ you can glance along the row of top performers to see their performance over various periods. What we are looking for is consistency of performance.
